Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss books are a favorite of children around the world. We grew up reading these books and can't wait to pass them on to our own children. Here are some of the most requested. For a fun tongue twisting, don't forget to read Fox In Socks. He has so many fantastic books, but many are too long for really young ones, so just skip a few pages or leave the ending to another day. |

The Cat In The Hat Hat
Paint red stripes across the hat. If the children want to wear it you can make it out of card stock and attach a headband to the back.
Or.... You can also cut out a paperplate to use as the brim and attach construction paper with red stripes on it and use the cut out part of the paper plate for the top of the hat.

Here Comes Trouble
The first thing I like to discuss with this book, is that mom should not have left the children home alone. What are some other better options that could have happened? Then I always stress the importance that children should never let anyone inside the house. Then it is fun to talk about all the ways the cat could have gotten in trouble.
Balancing Act
Have the children try to balance a plastic plate with plastic cup on their heads as they stand still or as they walk across the room.

You can also let a flower or vegetable soak up green food coloring in the water to turn green over the week.

Make a flip book in advance with the last page being wider with the letters "at" clear to the right then staple several page of first letters to the left side. Leave enough room on the left side between the staple and the first letter for the children to draw or glue pictures of the word.
