All the kids love pet week. If your preschool allows it, you can plan ahead and have parents bring their pet for show and tell, or you can just post pictures of children's pets. It's also fun to guess which pet belongs to which student and then graph how many of each pet your classroom has.

Beta In A Bowl
Color a Beta Fish and then glue it in a fish bowl pattern and then paint over it with a little bit of liquid corn syrup added to the blue paint to make it shimmer when it dries. If you add too much, it will be sticky.

Pet Show and Tell
Arrange a week or two before what times a parent can bring in a special pet to show the classroom if your preschool will allow it. Then let that child tell about their pet and answer questions regarding its care.
Kitty Mask
Cut out cat masks from paper plates or card stock, paint them and glue pipe cleaner wiskers on the to make masks so you can pretend to be cats..

Family Pet Pictures
Let children bring pictures of their pets. You can also make a game of it so that the classroom can guess which pet belongs to which child.
Turtle
Cut a slit to the middle of a paper plate and slide the edge around to make it into a turtle shell. Staple it in place and paint it and use a sponge in a different tint to give it texture. Add feet, tail and draw a face on the head to finish it.

Use different kinds of pet shaped cookie cutters with playdough.
Match Up
Pick out different items you would use in the care of different pets such as leash, collar, food dish, water bottle, cages to let the children guess which kind of pet would use that.
