Fingerprint Friends
This simple art can be expanded upon, but I usually let the children pick out their favorite washable ink color and we walk around the table putting their fingerprint, along with their name on everyone's paper.

Water Table
Keep it simple. The children will have fun just pouring in the water table. Be sure to have enough plastic scoops for every child to have one. A variety of sizes with a few having sift holes is best.

Puzzle Pals
Using the puzzle pal pattern that I included below this table, each child picks a friend that their puzzle piece will match up with and colors that piece to wear as a necklace or put double stick tape on back to use as a name tag.

Sand Table
Let the children build and pour in the sand area. Be sure to have enough scoops, small buckets, and other toys for every child to have one.

Children Cookie Cutter Prints
Let the children use cookie cutters in the shape of a girl and boy to paint friends from their classroom on their paper.

Playdough
Have the children use the same cookie cutters you painted with amoung other utensils to play with the playdough.

Laminated Name Tags for Backpacks
I have the children decorate a small nametag size piece of cardstock that also has their name on it and then laminate it. I attach it to the backpacks with a rubberband looped through.

Friend, Friend What Do You See Book
Make a book titled "Friend, Friend, What Do You See?" Put a picture of each child on one page with the phrase "I see ______ looking at me" at the top. Then have "__________, ___________, what do you see?" at the bottom of the page. You can also put the teachers at the back of the book.

School Bus/Your Preschool Van
Let the children color a school bus and put fingerprint kids in the windows. You can expand on this by putting on wheels with brass fasteners so they turn.

Look At Fingerprints With Magnifying Glass
Let the children examine their own fingerprints and those of their friends under a magnifying glass. Discuss the similarities and differences.
