There are many people that make up a family. We try to cover grandparents and dads with the Mother's Day week, but here are some ideas for other people in our family.

Center/Misc Ideas
I Love You This Much
I have included a pattern at the bottom of a person with very long arms that can be folded in front to make a card. Then on the inside you can write I Love You Soooooo Much.
Sisters
My Sister And I
I’LL LOVE YOU FOR ALWAYS
Tune: On Top of Old Smokey
I'll love you for always
I'll love you forever
As long as I'm living
My sister you'll be
SISTER DEAR
Sister dear, can you guess?,
Who is it who loves you best?
I’ll give you three guesses,
One, Two, Three
Know the answer – Yes it’s ME!
Dress Up
Have dress up clothes in the housekeeping area that are too small and too big. Discuss how older or younger siblings would fit in those clothes.
Pat On The Back
Use a t-shirt pattern and place child's handprint on it with the saying "You Deserve A Pat On The Back"
Just Me And My Little Brother
Brothers And Sisters
Brothers and Sisters
I’LL LOVE YOU FOR ALWAYS
Tune: On Top of Old Smokey
I'll love you for always
I'll love you forever
As long as I'm living
My brother you'll be
Siblings Chart
Let each child name off their brothers and sisters and if they are older or younger. Then make a chart of how many siblings the classroom has. You can also expand on this by talking about one way they are the same and one way they are different.
Coupon Booklets
Print out some coupons and let the children add what acts of labor they want to do for their mom. Ideas can range from backrubs or foot massages to going for a walk together or helping with a chore or even just hugs or kisses.
What Aunts Do Best/What Uncles Do Best
I REALLY LOVE MY AUNT/UNCLE!!
Tune: The More We Get Together
I really love my aunt, my aunt, my aunt.
I really love my aunt, I love her so much.
She takes me shopping, she hugs me and kisses me.
I really love my aunt, I love her so much.
I really love my uncle, I love him so much.
He tells such fun stories and jokes with me.
I really love my uncle, I love him so much.
Announcement of Appreciation
Use an different oversized certificates and list on it all the ways different members of our family help us. Then post it on the wall and ask the children to try and remember to thank someone in their family for a different thing each day of the week.
Family Tree
Make a family tree and help the children understand the relationships of their cousins.
Just Me And My Cousin
Cousins Are For Holiday Visits
COUSIN COUSIN I LOVE YOU
tune: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Cousin, cousin, I love you.
And all the things we like to do!
You will always play with me.
You make me laugh so easily.
Cousin, cousin, I love you.
And all the things we like to do!
Bring In Family Pictures
Post the family pictures on the wall and talk about how some people look like their mothers or dads or aunts or uncles or cousins.
Baby Feet
Have the child make a fist. Apply paint to the side of their fist closest to the pinky finger. Have them press their fist to a piece of paper. That will make the main part of the foot. Then make toes using their baby finger and first finger. You can then paint their feet to make their footprint besides the baby one.
The New Baby
I'm A Big Sister
I LOVE BABY
tune: Are You Sleeping?
I Love Baby, I Love Baby,
Yes, I do, yes, I do.
Baby's are for hugging,
Baby's are for kissing,
I love you, yes I do.
Take Special Care Of Baby Dolls
Let the children care for their "babies" by feeding them in doll high chairs or giving them baths in the water table, or rocking them to sleep in the rocking chair.
Compare The Sizes of Shoes
Bring in a baby's shoe and compare the size of that shoe to the children's shoes. Play shoe game where everyone puts one shoe in a pile and has to find theirs. Discuss different shapes, colors and characteristics of their shoes.
