Sorting Recycleable Items
Bring in all kinds of recycleable containers and paper and sort them into the different glass, plastic and paper piles. Discuss how this reduces garbage in our landfills.
Handprint Earth
Paint the kids hands with green paint and let them place them on a big blue circle to represent the continents. You can also dab a little white paint on with cotton balls for the clouds.

Recycle Challenge
Make a challenge with other classrooms to use gloves and look through their trash for the day and to see how much could have been recycled. Add containers to each classroom that can hold the recycleables and see how much more we can keep from the landfills.
